Whore of Horror

venera9:

The inspiration behind Lady Gaga’s outfit during the performance of her song “Government Hooker” at The Born This Way Ball tour (2012-2013) was H.R. Giger’s original designed monster for Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979). Giger’s early designs and pieces from which he built the finalized Alien on are horrifyingly erotic. Imagery of deadly intercourse, interspecies rape, and otherworldly, bio-mechanical nightmares are found throughout his works leading up to the monster’s final design. The same themes are carried out through the film’s sequels: Aliens, Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection.

"Initiating satellite. Space renegade Lady Gaga has escaped. Downloading image of prisoner. Alien fugitive objective: To birth a new race. Operation: Kill the bitch!"

- A spoken prologue introducing the story line of the The Born This Way Ball tour

Throughout the Alien films, the only objective these monsters have is to reproduce, kill, spread and take over.

Gaga explained that ”Government Hooker is a social commentary on how the government screws it’s people and it continuously goes unchanged, unnoticed or unchallenged and is normally brushed off as something that’s as natural as sex.
